We explore the iconic Cavalli Islands conservation reserve, home of the 'Rainbow Warrior' wreck, awesome scenery and abundant marine life. This cluster of islands lie to the east of an extremely rugged and beautiful section of the Northland Coast.
Visiting this seldom paddled area, we'll be amongst towering sea cliffs and rock pinnacles, numerous hidden coves, and idyllic sandy beaches. Depending on conditions, we'll also visit sections of the mainland coast and adjacent islands, including the magnificent rock formations and sea caves at the entrance to Whangaroa Harbour.
" The Cavalli Islands was a magic kayaking venue, what a treat to have the modern clean DOC hut all to ourselves and our very own beach. That was a fantastic spot for our base. Paddling around that coastline with all the sea caves and arches was spectacular. "
